Dr. James H. Lubowitz is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship subspecialty training in orthopaedic sports medicine. Dr. Lubowitz is an orthopaedic sports medicine founding fellowship director, emeritus, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the International Society for Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North American (AANA). Dr. Lubowitz currently serves as Editor-in-chief of Arthroscopy: The journal of arthroscopic and related surgery and the on line, open access journal Arthroscopy Techniques. Dr. Lubowitz has published more than 250 peer-reviewed, PubMed cited articles on orthopaedic surgery, arthroscopy and orthopaedic sports medicine in journals including Arthroscopy, Arthroscopy Techniques, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, American Journal of Sports Medicine, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, and Knee Surgery, Sports, Arthroscopy and Traumatology. Dr. Lubowitz has published many book chapters on fractures and soft tissue injuries involving bones and joints and ligaments and cartilage and meniscus and foot and ankle and wrist and hand and knee and shoulder and sports and ski injury and sports medicine. He has also edited an orthopaedic and arthroscopic surgery textbook. and has extensive experience in orthopaedic and arthroscopic product evaluation, product development, research, and education.

Dr. Lubowitz has long and vast experience as a medical expert witness and treating physician. Dr. Lubowitz has prepared forensic reports, and testified in deposition, video deposition, and in regional and federal court cases. He is a sought after orthopaedic and arthroscopic defense expert, who bases his opinions on extensive research and clinical experience. Dr. Lubowitz is noted for an ability to clearly communicate complex medical ideas and concepts regarding orthopaedic injury, diagnosis, prognosis, cost, treatment options, complications, and expected outcomes. He is frequently asked to determine the cause of orthopaedic and arthroscopic injury and occupational injury.
